First concert photo shoot with new Canon EOS 1D-X featuring Grammy winner Juanes' benefit concert for Lifebeat, Music Fights HIV/AIDS at the Warner Theatre

The London 2012 Olympics get started today, and one of the most popular cameras do be used by sports photographers there will be the brand new Canon EOS 1D-X – the very same camera I finally got my hands earlier this week.

While testing the camera on inanimate objects earlier this week was fun, the true test of this camera came during my first concert photo shoot at multi-Grammy winner Juanes' benefit concert for Lifebeat, Music Fights HIV/AIDS at the Warner Theatre.

Quite an experience! Darting between jumping and dancing audience members in the crowd to get solid angles to take photos of the very entertaining Juanes, this camera surely didn't dissapoint. The 61-point AF captured every vivid detail in stunning color, its impressive six-digit ISO count was simply brilliant, and fast moving subjects? No problem, focus on the camera was absolutely amazing – a concert photographer’s dream!

There will be plenty of additional photo examples of what this fantastic camera can do, including some weddings lined up next month, but day one is in the books, and I'm incredibly happy to have this super camera in my arsenal. Stay tuned for future shoots with the 1D-X!
