MOET & CHANDON TOASTS THE LATINO VOTE AT THE 'VOTO LATINO INAUGURATION CELEBRATION

Moët & Chandon toasted non-partisan voter registration organization Voto Latino as the organization, their celebrity coalition, elected officials and media came together for an intimate celebration to commemorate President Obama’s Inauguration on January 20, 2013.


Taking place in Washington DC at OYA Restaurant, the exclusive event was both a celebration of the Inauguration and the incredible achievements of Latinos in politics, media and entertainment. American Latinos played an integral part in the 2012 elections, representing a record setting 10% of voters. Through the help of Voto Latino’s efforts, over 100,000 new voters were registered in time for Election Day. 

The January 20th event brought together pioneers and leaders from across industries to toast the record-high voter turnout amongst Latinos in 2012 and to look forward to the continued growth and momentum of American Latino voters as they engage on key issues in 2013 and beyond. Celebrities, media and elected and appointed officials in attendance included Voto Latino Chair Rosario Dawson, Co-Chair Wilmer Valderrama, Voto Latino President Maria Teresa Kumar, Joe Armstrong (NBCSL), Esther Aguilera (Congressional Hispanic Caucus Institute), Representative Joaquin Castro (D-TX), Karen Finney (MSNBC), Representative Joe Garcia (D-FL), Labor and Civil Rights Leader Dolores Huerta, Representative Ben Ray Luján (D-NM), US Treasurer Rosie Rios, Secretary of Labor Hilda Solis, Rapper/Producer Mopreme Shakur, Musician Shelia E. and more.
